Prize winners
Well done to the following students who were awarded a prize for their work and overall contribution during Term One. The work produced by the year group was amazing, but these students were selected for the extra effort they put in. Their prize was a watch that they could design for themselves. Another chance to be creative and show what special talents they have. The winners were:
Stevie McCormick
Samantha Harvey
Amy Biggs
Robert Meadows
Adam Hughes (Mr Lewis)
Georgina Cummins
Hannah Lambourn
Adam Hughes (Miss Grottan)

Presentation Day
On thursday 8 December 2011 students from Year 7 Creative Learning presented work from their first term in a display in the assembly hall. The day was a huge success with students proudly showing off the work that they had completed and already demonstrating how resourceful and independent they have become in just ten weeks. The work based on the 'Myself and My Local Area' theme included collages, models, artwork, powerpoint presentations, videos, storybook comics, written compositions and photographs.

Myself and My Local Area - Progress so far
On Monday 11 July 2011 we met with Anthony Brandreth who is the Project Officer for the 'Artery of Life Project'. The main aim of this project is to re-connect people with nature on their doorstep, using the Mersey Estuary as a focal point. The project team are looking for members of the local community and individuals to help tell the story of life on the river during the past sixty years. It seemed an ideal opportunity for the Creative Learners in Year 7 to become involved in a worthwhile activity which would allow them to use their creative approach to learning. The project will become an important extension to the work already being carried out as the group begin to explore their lives in their town.
For further information about the project you can visit the following website or simply watch this space for future developments of the project. The web link is www.arteryoflife.co.uk
